Sue

Sue Muir - Violin

Sue studied performing at the Royal College of Music, London and then at the National Centre
of Orchestral Studies, London. She then went on to play with the Scottish Ballet Orchestra.
She has also attained 2 Diplomas in Jazz Performance and plays live music for stage and theatre.

Teresa

Teresa Boag - Violin

Teresa started the violin at the age of 7 having been entranced by Beethoven’s Emperor Piano Concerto! She studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow with Louis Carus
and Peter Mountain. Teresa is also a member of Aberdeen Sinfonietta and performs regularly in Aberdeen.

 

 

 
Rachel

Rachel Mackison - Violin/ Viola

Rachel studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London. After college she played with various orchestras in London before moving to Aberdeenshire. She is a member of Aberdeen Sinfonietta and the Director of the Strings and Wind National Workshop.

 

Ruth

Sandra Thomson - Viola

Sandra went to St Marys School in Edinburgh and then studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with John White. She left college and began playing with the Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra. After 3 years in Germany she came back to Scotland and played with the BBC Scottish Orchestra. She now plays with the Aberdeen Sinfonietta.

 


Alison

Alison MacDonald - Cello

Alison studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Having freelanced in Wales for 10 years, Alison moved to Aberdeenshire in 2005. She is currently a member of the Aberdeen Sinfonietta and Aberdeen Chamber Players.

Claire

Claire Davis - Cello

After studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Claire became first extra with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and she also worked with other orchestras including BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Northern Sinfonia. Claire also worked in the West End on the shows Sinatra and Wicked.

Gareth Gareth John - Cello

Gareth studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Gareth is in much demand appearing as principal cellist with all north-east orchestras as well as in recitals. Gareth organises the Deveron Festival, Banff and conducts many orchestras in Aberdeen.
